American and former drug company executive, Martin Shkreli, who made headlines by jacking up the price of a lifesaving drug before he was found guilty of defrauding investors, was sentenced to 7 years and a $75,000 fine on Friday. The sentence from U.S. District Judge Kiyo Matsumoto in federal court in Brooklyn, New York, was shorter than the 15 years asked for by prosecutors but much longer than the 12 to 18 months Shkreli’s lawyers had sought.

Trump And Kim Jong-Un To Hold Landmark Meeting

US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, are to meet in person as early as May, it has been announced, an extraordinary overture after months of mutual hostility.

News of the meeting was delivered by South Korean officials after talks with Mr Trump at the White House.

US President, Donald Trump's top economic adviser, Gary Cohn is resigning, the White House has said.

It is the latest in a series of high-profile departures from President Trump's team.

There has been speculation that Mr Cohn, a supporter of free trade, was angered by Mr Trump's plans to impose tariffs on aluminium and steel imports.

U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson cancelled scheduled events on Saturday on the second day of a visit to Kenya because “he is not feeling well”, a State Department spokesman said. “The secretary is not feeling well after a long couple days working on major issues back home such as North Korea and has cancelled his events for the day,” spokesman Steve Goldstein told reporters travelling with Tillerson.

A 17-year-old girl is dead and a 17-year-old boy is wounded after a shooting in one of the largest schools in Birmingham, Alabama. The fatal shooting appears to be accidental. Authorities are lamenting the death of a 17-year-old female student in the incident that also left a 17-year-old boy injured.

American business magazine Forbes has released its 32nd annual ranking of the world’s billionaires. The magazine lists more than 2,200 billionaires around the world who hold a combined net worth of $9.1 trillion, up 18% from a year ago. Interestingly, no Saudi Arabians made the Forbes Billionaires list this year.
