Femi Adesina, the Special Adviser to the President on media and publicity disclosed that President Muhammadu Buhari would be appreciated by Nigerians after he leaves office on May 29, 2023. He said, those who seek to rewrite history for Buhari's regime for all the wrong perspectives they have on him, his principal would be remembered for many achievements by fair Nigerians. Adesina revealed this in his weekly article titled ‘NG-CARES: HOW BUHARI QUIETLY ATTENDS TO NEEDS OF NIGERIANS’, where he reeled out some of the achievements of the President.

APC Favours Akpabio, Tajudeen for Senate President, Speaker

The National Working Committee (NWC) of All Progressives Congress (APC), yesterday, nominated former governor of Akwa Ibom State, Godswill Akpabio, for Senate President, and Hon. Tajudeen Abass from Kaduna State for Speaker of the House of Representatives. The nominations, which followed a consensus deal, confirms weeks of speculation that the ruling party had zoned the 10th National Assembly’s senate presidency to South-south and Speaker of the House of Representatives to North-west. The agreement also covered other principal positions in the bicameral federal legislature.

The Federal Government (FG) has announced Monday, May 1 as a public holiday to mark this year’s Workers’ Day celebration. This announcement was made known on Friday in a statement issued by the Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola. The statement enjoined workers to imbibe a culture of diligence and productivity during the discharge of their duties.

10th Assembly: NASS Set To Begin Induction For Senators, Members-Elect

The management of the National Assembly, in conjunction with the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS) are set to begin the induction ceremony and training of senators-elect and members-elect of the 10th National Assembly ahead of inauguration. The induction ceremony is intended to educate lawmakers-elect on the legislative business. According to the NILDS, this is extremely important as more than seventy percent of Federal Lawmakers coming into the 10th assembly are first time lawmakers. The Clerk to the National Assembly (CNA) Malam Sani Maggaji Tambuwal gave the indication after inspection of the venues for the training and hotel accommodation of the lawmakers.
