Partnership, Permissible Policies Path To Sustainable Management Of Migration -IOM DG-Elect

The Director General-Elect of International Organization for Migration (IOM), Amy Pope has attributed resolution for the sustainable management of migration to appropriate partnership, enhanced labor mobility plans, and permissible policies. Pope stated this during the International Conference on Development and Migration, held on Monday at the Italian Foreign Ministry Headquarters in Rome. The conference aimed to contribute to the development of all countries involved in the trend.

APC- Atiku: We Have No Plot To Undermine Judiciary

The APC has dismissed an allegation by Atiku Abubakar, People’s Democratic Party, (PDP), Presidential Candidate, claiming its plot to intimidate members of the judiciary towards unduly influencing the outcome of pending cases before the court. Felix Morka, the APC National Publicity Secretary in a statement on Saturday in the nation's capital, stated that Abubakar and his party offered no evidence to support their allegations that the Feb 25th presidential election was characterized by irregularities.

Tribunal Sacks LP Reps Member, Declares PDP Winner

The National Assembly Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Asaba, Delta State, has nullified the election of Mr. Ngozi Okolie of the Labour Party as a member representing the Aniocha/Oshimili Constituency at the House of Representatives. The tribunal in a judgment on Monday, held that Okolie was not duly sponsored by the Labour Party as he was not a member of the party as of May 28, 2022, when the primary purportedly held. The tribunal declared the runner-up in the February 25, 2023, National Assembly, Ndudi Elumelu of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), as the winner.

Imo Guber: Over N54m Campaign Billboard Fee- ADP Candidate, Nwoga Kicks

Kachi Nwoga, the Governorship candidate of the Action Democratic Party (ADP), has bemoaned the Imo State government stance for placing the sum of N54 million on political campaign billboards ahead of the 11th November, 2023 election. Nwoga, stated this while addressing newsmen on Monday in Abuja. Alleging that, the ruling party in the State is confiscating branded cars of opposition political parties for not having a gubernatorial advert permit.

FG Assures Nigerians Of Subsidy Benefits

The Chairman, Palliative Committee on Subsidy Removal and Kebbi Governor Dr Nasir Idris, has assured Nigerians that efforts were on to cushion the effects of the subsidy removal. Idris gave the assurance when members of the committee met in Abuja on Saturday. This was contained in a statement by his Spokesman, Ahmed Idris. The meeting had in attendance Governors Baba Mohammed of Bauchi, Charles Soludo of Anambra, Uba Sani of Kaduna and Hyacindu Alia of Benue, as well representatives of the Organised Labour and Civil Society Organisations.
