Just In: Orubebe Now Officially Member Of APC

Former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godsday Orubebe has officially declared his membership for the All Progressive Congress (APC) in his ward; ward 3, Burutu Local Govt Area of Delta state. Orubebe, a former serving Minister during the Goodluck Jonathan administration became famous for throwing tantrums during the coalition of the 2015 general elections, calling the National INEC chairman names.

Recall, the former Minister resigned his People Democratic Party (PDP) membership shortly after the presidential primary election that throw, Atiku Abubakar onboard as the Party presidential candidate for the 2023 general election citing abnormalities in the party as his reason. 


Declaring his membership public in his community last Friday, the former minister applauds the local Government executives of the party for making the occasion a hitch-free one by warmly accepting him into the party. 

Orubebe promised to work for the APC void of discrimination in the state until they paddled the party to victory, he said. 

He has since been crowned as the Director General campaign for the APC Governorship candidate of his state, Ovie Omo-Agege, while promising that soon a grand rally will be held that will usher in bigwigs into the fold of the APC in the state. 

The former Minister assured the party faithful that with his coming to join the progressive, they should rest assured that they are on a path to victory in the state. 

We are on the pathway to victory and Omo-Agege will lead the Ijaw nation into development he said. 

Earlier, the local government party chairman, Mr. Nana while addressing the party faithful assure that members that the joining the APC by Orubebe were a good omen for the party, saying APC in the state was like a sheep without a shepherd. 

He solicits the support of the party members that a heavy weight was now in their fold in the state. 

The occasion was graced by the state's former Commissioner for Transport, Barrister Bosin Ebikeme, business mogul, Chief Clement Moni; APC State Financial Secretary, Mr. Theodore Ezonfade; Ambassador Felix Datuowei; Barrister Dickson Bekederemo, and many others. 

Meanwhile, the point of the ceremony was the signing of the membership card by the former minister on Friday, 29th July 2022.
