The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State has adopted President Muhammadu Buhari as their candidate for the 2019 general elections.

Leaders and members of the party in the state also endorsed Governor Abdullahi Ganduje as their sole candidate for 2019.

A statement issued on Thursday by the Senior Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr Garba Shehu, said the endorsements took place during the APC stakeholders’ meeting held on the margins of President Buhari’s working visit to Kano State.

It looks as if the much publicised meeting between former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar and ex-head of State, Ibrahim Babangida did not go down well as expected as journalist and supporters were, yesterday, shocked after the former vice-president came out from a meeting wearing a long face reflective of disapproval shown to his 2019 presidential aspiration by IBB.

Stakeholders in Imo state have continued to condemn the recent creation of Ministry of Happiness and Purpose Fulfillment by Governor Rochas Okorocha. The prominent politicians who described the move as 'strange' and 'abomination' called on the governor to subject himself for deliverance.

Speaking at an interactive session with community leaders held at Coronation House in Kano, Buhari expressed his satisfaction with the massive reception he was given, saying: “Definitely, since this is partisan politics, I think it has sent a clear message to the opposition.”

Former vice-president of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar, on Thursday, visited former Military Head of State, Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida, in Minna, the Niger state capital.

National Caretaker Committee Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Sen. Ahmed Makarfi, says the party is not just looking to regain power at the center, but also to sweep national executive and legislative elections.

Markarfi made the remarks Tuesday while formerly receiving former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, who recently returned to the party.

The Caretaker Chairman had conferred with Atiku in his office at the party’s national secretariat before leading him to be received at the National Executive Committee (NEC) hall where he addressed party leaders and members.
