Justice Auta In Trouble Over Alleged N220m Fraud

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) said it had arrested a former Kano State High Court Judge, Justice Kabiru Auta, for an alleged N220 million fraud.

President Muhammadu Buhari has urged Igbos in the South-East to jettison the senseless” secession propaganda, assuring them that “Igbo is Nigeria and Nigeria is Igbo.”

Buhari made the remarks on Tuesday while addressing a crowd during his two-day working visit in Abakiliki, Ebonyi State.

The President also noted that his visit was a symbol of a strong belief in the Unity of Nigeria, and therefore, encouraged the youths to dismiss any calls for secession.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has asked Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, to stop blaming past administrations and the opposition for his government’s inability to create jobs and settle pensioners.

The party also advised the governor to focus more on the business of good governance and address the infrastructural deficiencies in the state.

The Senate has ordered the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Ibrahim Idris to reinstate the already redeployed Aide de Camp (ADC) to the Governor of Anambra state, Chief Willie Obiano within twenty four hours. The order followed a Point of Order raised on the floor of the Senate by the Deputy Senate Minority Leader, Sen. Emmanuel Bwacha during plenary on Wednesday at the National Assembly.

The Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, has directed the immediate arrest of politicians or group either inciting or making financial inducement to influence the outcome of Saturday’s Anambra governorship elections.

The IG handed down the directive on Wednesday in Abuja while addressing officers and men of the Force Headquarters.

The Defence headquarters has debunked media reports that the Nigerian Military has perfected plans to halt further admission of female cadets as Regular Combatants Officers (RCO). The DHQ made this known on Tuesday in a statement issued by its Spokesman, Major General John Enenche. The statement described media reports that the Military would stop training female cadets to be commissioned as RCO into the Armed Forces as false.
