As the conflicts between the Senator representing Kogi West Federal Constituency, Dino Melaye, and the State governor, Yahaya Bello rages on, the State executive of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has passed a vote of confidence on the Senator for his courage in standing against injustice, inhumanity and oppression.

In a press statement signed by the Party chairman, Alhaji Hardy Ametuo and secretary, Barrister Tom Adejo and made available to news men, 16 out of 21 Local Government chairman of APC as well as the state executives gave the Senator the pass mark.

The development is coming on the heel of attempt by some indigenes of Odo Ape to recall the senator for what they described as his “continuous embarrassment”.

But Political watchers believe the move is the handy work of the state governor, Yahaya Bello, with the support of former senator Smart Adeyemi who lost to Melaye in the last election and stands to gain should the Senator be successfully recalled.
Reacting to the development, senator Melaye in his facebook post said:

"Yahaya Bello: on recall of Dino Melaye, he is shooting the Moon and boxing the air. Spending over one billion Naira tax payers’ money on an unproductive venture when salaries and pensions have not been paid is wicked. I will continue to defend the poor and defenseless masses of kogi state. If I die I die. We must rescue the state.”
