COVID-19 Update; Nigeria Records Additional 288 Confirmed Cases

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has revealed yesterday to have recorded additional 288 confirmed new cases pushing the toll to now 5,445.

COVID-19 May Never Go Away - WHO

The World Health Organization, WHO has cautioned that COVID-19 may never permanently go away, thereby warning against trying to predict how long the COVID-19 would keep circulating. WHO called for a "massive effort" to overcome it. During a virtual press conference from Geneva on Wednesday, May 13, emergency director for the global health body Dr Mike Ryan, made the declaration stating that even if a vaccine is found, controlling the virus will require a "massive effort".

The Republic of Madagascar after the production of a herbal drug for the cure and prevention for the novel coronavirus known as COVID Organics (COV) has offered Nigeria and other African countries. The distribution of the herbal drugs has been divided into zones due to ease in transportation through African countries, hence, Nigeria consignment has been sent to Equatorial Guinea where it will be airlifted to Abuja.

Nonagenarian COVID-19 Patient Discharged In Lagos

A 98 years old woman has recovered from the novel coronavirus after being treated in one of Lagos state facilities. Babajide Sanwo-Olu disclosed on Wednesday 13th May 2020 that the nonagenarian was discharged alongside 25 others patients who had previously tested positive to the deadly coronavirus in Lagos state.
