Over 30 Persons Missing In Kebbi Boat Mishap

A boat carrying over 30 passengers on board from Kasabu village in Agwara local government area of Niger to Yauri in Kebbi has capsized. More than 22 of the passengers have been declared missing. Alhaji Salihu Garba, overseeing Director General of the Niger State Emergency Management Agency (NSEMA), disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Minna on Monday. Confirming the ugly development to the Voice of America through telephone, the Chairman of Yauri LGA, Bala Yauri, disclosed that the incident has left the people of the local government in deep sorrow.

President Tinubu Has Approved Purchase of 12 Attack Helicopters, Says COAS

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja disclosed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the purchase of 12 attack helicopters for the Nigerian Army (NA). The COAS made this disclosure on Tuesday during the opening of the maiden Nigerian Army Aviation Seminar, adding that the 12 MD 530F Cayuse attack helicopters would improve the operations of the Nigerian Army aviation unit as has already been done in countries like the United States, Pakistan, Egypt and others.

Labour, FG Negotiation; NLC, TUC declares Nationwide Strike

Following the failed negotiation between the Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, verses the Federal Government on labour matters that have been lingering since removal of the fuel subsidy by the President Tinubu administration, the, NLC, and the Trade Union Congress, TUC, have declared a nationwide industrial action. According to the NLC, the strike action would commence on 3rd October, 2023 where they called on all their nationwide branches to comply.
