The Presidency has faulted the statement credited to the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, that the declaration of Indigenous People of Biafra (IOB) as a terrorist organization by the Nigerian Army was illegal.

The Federal Government has dismissed threat by United Labour Congress (ULC) to proceed on indefinite strike on Friday (today), noting that the group is not a recognized Labour Union and cannot represent or mobilize workers for any form of industrial action.
The Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Chris Ngige stated this on Thursday in Abuja while reacting to the ultimatum issued by ULC.

The Federal Government on Monday inaugurated a Finance Sectoral Consultative Committee for the effective coordination of statistical data in the ministry of finance and its agencies. The Permanent Secretary in Ministry of finance, Dr. Mahmoud Isa-Dutse, inaugurated the committee at the headquarters of the finance ministry in Abuja.

The Acting Chairman of Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu has confirmed that the agency is seeking the extradition of the former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Allison-Madueke, following corruption allegations leveled against her. Magu made the disclosure on Thursday while addressing newsmen and civil society groups in Abuja.
