The Chairman, Senate Committee on Media and Public and spokesman of the Senate, Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi, said the country has been losing corruption cases because of the advisory ineptitude of the Chairman of Presidential Action Committee on Anti-Corruption (PACAC), Professor Itse Sagay. The Senate has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to rein in the legal luminary, who is accused of spreading falsehood and making hate speeches against the National Assembly.

NEMA Receives 2,638 Nigerians Repatriated From Libya

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) on Wednesday said it had received another batch of 121 stranded Nigerians from Libya, making a total of 2,638 Nigerians repatriated since February. The Zonal Coordinator of NEMA, Mr Suleiman Yakubu, received the new batch of evacuees on behalf of the Federal Government, enjoining them to learn from their unpleasant experiences while in Libya.

Fake News Creators Want To Expose President Buhari To Hatred – Adesina

Fake news about the Nigerian government making the rounds on the internet are aimed at causing disenchantment and exposing President Mohammadu Buhari to ridicule and hatred, the Senior Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity has said.

The Minister of Women Affairs, Aisha Alhassan, has declared that he would support former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, for the 2019 presidential election. She mentioned that even if  President Muhammadu Buhari decides to run for the same office. Mrs Alhassan, endorsed that former Vice President while speaking in an interview with BBC Hausa, Alhassan explained that her choice of Abubakar was predicated on the fact that the former Vice President is her “godfather.”

The Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption (PACAC), Prof. Itse Sagay, said on Tuesday the body would push for the prosecution of bank chiefs who connived with corrupt government officials and looters to move and hide stolen funds. The PACAC chairman made this known as he delivered a public lecture in Lagos on the topic: The many afflictions of anti-corruption crusade in Nigeria. It was organised by the Nigerian Society of International Law.

The All Progressives Congress (APC), Ebonyi State Chapter has called on Nigerians to beg the President, Muhammadu Buhari to urgently declare his intention to seek reelection in 2019, to enable him consolidate on the achievements he has recorded so far. The party made the call on Monday during a rally held in Abakaliki to welcome President Muhammadu Buhari from his medical trip to the United Kingdom.
