The Federal Road Safety Corps says the planned introduction of bicycle as a means of transportation in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) may not work as there are so many issues that must be addressed for the policy to be successful. The Corps made its position known on Sunday in a statement issued by the Public Education Officer, Bisi Kazeem.

The Coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme and the Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta, Brig. Gen. Paul Boroh says over five million people in the Niger Delta region have so far benefitted from the programme since its introduction in 2009 by the Umaru Musa Yar'Adua Administration.

The Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo has distanced himself from a political group known as 'Osinbajo Volunteers', seeking his election as president in 2019 general election. The Vice President made his position known in a tweet by his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity Laolu Akande. He called on Nigerians to disregard the group as it has nothing to do with the Vice President.

The Presidency has described as sad, comments credited to some Nigerians after the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) announced that the country had exited recession. In a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adeshina on his Facebook page, the Presidency said while majority of Nigerians are celebrating apparent growth in the economy, others were “in the gall of bitterness and bondage” of never expecting anything good to happen to the country.

The Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir Elrufai has attributed Nigeria's problems especially the issue of brain drain to the discovery of oil in the country. He explained that for the problem to be addressed, the Federal Government must change the current dependence on oil and develop other sectors of the economy.

Former vice president of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar has reacted to comments credited to President Muhammadu’s Minister of Women Affairs, Aisha Jumai Alhassan, regarding her principal, describing it as the truth that “couldn’t have been said any better,” according to Daily Post. Atiku declared that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is a coalition and that appointees have the right to keep their allegiance with whosoever they please.
