An Abuja High Court has granted bail to Senator representing Kogi West, Dino Melaye currently being held in a police health facility in Abuja. Dailypost reports that in a ruling on an application by his lawyer, Mike Ozekhome (SAN), Justice Yusuf Halilu granted bail to Melaye on health ground. The Judge was of the view that the Senator must be healthy to stand trial.

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to prosecute those who wasted $16billion meant for electricity. The Chairman of the party made the call during the APC Presidential campaign rally in Warri, Delta State, on Thursday.

The All Progressives Congress on Monday insisted that the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Walter Onoghen, must face his corruption trial at the Code of Conduct Tribunal CCT). The party made its position known in a statement issued by the National Publicity Secretary, Lanre Issa-Onilu.

The Ekiti State House of Assembly on Thursday impeached its Deputy Speaker, Mr. Segun Adewumi. According to Dailypost, Adewumi was removed by the lawmakers over allegation of gross misconduct. The lawmakers, thereafter, elected Olamiposi Omodara as the new deputy speaker.

The Newly-appointed Inspector General of Police, IGP, Mohammed Adamu on Tuesday pledged to hit the ground running, following his appointment by President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday. Adamu took over from Ibrahim Idris who clocked sixty years today.

The Action Alliance (AA) on Monday reaffirmed its support for the Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, in the forthcoming presidential election. According to Dailypost, AA National Chairman, Chief Kenneth Udeze, stated this at a press conference at the party’s headquarters in Abuja.
