Emir of Kano Muhammadu Sunusi II has restated his unalloyed loyalty to President Muhammadu Buhari and Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.

The emir made the declaration yesterday while delivering his speech at the traditional Hawan Nassarawa, held at Africa House, Government House, Kano.

He said; “I am assuring the Federal Government and the Kano State Government of Kano Emirate’s support to ensure peaceful co-existence and unity among Nigerians. Unity is a root for peace and progress of every nation. We must also sit up especially in the area of enlightenment campaign among youth.”

Sanusi called Kano State Government to help farmers whose farmlands were recently invaded by strange insects in some villages in the state, and urged Muslims to uphold the spiritual lessons learnt from the month of Ramadan to shape their lives.

The emir also called for rigorous sensitization campaign among youths, saying, “We need to enlighten our youth to understand the importance of peace and unity.”

On his part, the state Governor, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, called for peaceful coexistence between Kano indigenes and non-indigene communities, saying, “In Kano, the non-indigenes are our brothers. We always see them as partners in progress.”
