The Peoples Democratic Party has appealed to the Governor Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose to rescind his decision to leave the party following the outcome of the party's presidential primary which produced former Vice President Alhaji Atiku Abubakar as flag bearer.

The Senator representing Rivers South-East Senatorial District, Magnus Abe has vowed to drag the leadership of the All Progressives Congress before an Appeal Panel set up by the National Working Committee of the party to resolve crises that greeted the recent conduct of primaries across the country. Abe who was elected as the governorship candidates of the party by a faction of the party loyal to him failed to be recognized by the NWC.

President Muhammadu Buhari was in Bauchi, capital of Bauchi state, to commiserate with the government and people of the state over a storm that wrecked havoc across the state on Saturday. President Buhari is in Bauchi to sympathise with the government and people of the state over the recent tragic incidents that occurred in the state.

Contrary to reports that some of the aspirants who failed to clinch the Peoples Democratic Party Presidential ticket in the recently conducted primary would work against Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Aminu Tamuwal who scored the second highest votes has congratulated the winner, and assured him of his support ahead of the 2019 elections.

The temporarily suspended battle for the leadership of the Nigerian Senate will resume tomorrow when the Lawmakers resume from their long recess. The Federal lawmakers had been on recess since July 24. Clearly, the battle would be between the Senators elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC who claim to be in the majority and Peoples Democratic Party Senators battling to retain Dr. Bukola Saraki as the Senate President. 

The Nasarawa State House of Assembly has commended President Muhammadu Buhari for granting financial autonomy to State Houses of Assembly, describing him as a true democrat. The Speaker of the Assembly, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdullahi who spoke in Lafia, the State Capital said the action of the President would reinforce our democracy, strengthen rule of law and the well-being of Nigerians.
