Governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode, today said his administration had embarked on reforms aimed at generating 3000 MW of power within the next few years for the state. Ambode made the disclosure while declaring open the 7th Annual Public Lecture of the Lagos State Public Service Chapter of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria.

Following the backlash that greeted the recent review of the secondary school curriculum, resulting in the collapse of Christian Religious Knowledge (CRK) and Islamic Religious Knowledge to form National Values, the Federal Government has directed the Nigerian Educational Research Development Council (NERDC) to revert to status quo and immediately restore CRK and IRK as separate subjects.

Yesterday, the former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar reiterated his call for immediate restructuring of the country, saying those against restructuring of the country are enemies of the people.  The former Vice President stated this while making a presentation at a programme organized by the Senior Staff Club, University of Nigeria, Nsukka.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) may have perfected plans to expel the ousted National Chairman of the party, Sen. Ali Modu Sheriff and some members of his National Executive Committee especially the former National Secretary, Prof. Wale Oladipo, the Deputy National Chairman, Dr. Cairo Ojougboh, and the acting National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Bernard Mikko for the role they played in the leadership crisis that rocked the party.
